The accused, Ajay Kumar (30), a resident of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, reportedly sent a video message to a friend around 3:15 pm on Sunday, warning that he intended to end his life. His wife, Sweety Sharma (28), originally from Asansol, West Bengal, was found dead at their flat in Sector 37, while Kumar was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan. Both were employed at an IT company in Gurugram.
Police sources revealed that the couple had been married for three years. The initial investigation indicates that a fight might have escalated into a fatal act. Sharma’s family has alleged murder and filed a formal complaint against Kumar.
The flat reportedly showed signs of a struggle, and police are investigating the exact cause and sequence of events. Officials are also reviewing the video message sent by Kumar to his friend, which suggested premeditation.
