🌾 Boost for Farmers – National Makhana Board Launched

Recognizing Bihar’s status as the leading producer of makhana (fox nuts) — accounting for nearly 90% of India’s production — PM Modi announced the National Makhana Board.

This initiative will provide organized support to farmers, improve quality standards, and open up global markets for this nutrient-rich “superfood,” directly benefiting thousands of local producers.

⚡ Infrastructure & Energy Projects Worth Billions

A major announcement was the foundation stone laying for a 3×800 MW thermal power project at Pirpainti in Bhagalpur, valued at over ₹25,000 crore. Additionally, PM Modi launched key railway projects, including:

  • Foundation stone for the Vikramshila–Katareah rail line to provide a direct link across the Ganga River
  • Inauguration of the Araria–Galgalia rail line
  • Flagging off new trains such as the Jogbani–Danapur Vande Bharat Express and Amrit Bharat Express, promising faster travel for commuters

🏡 Rural Development & Women Empowerment

PM Modi also participated in the Griha Pravesh ceremony for thousands of beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana.

More than ₹500 crore in community investment funds were distributed to women’s self-help groups under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission, boosting rural entrepreneurship.

The Prime Minister inaugurated a state-of-the-art semen station in Purnea, the first of its kind in Eastern and Northeastern India, to modernize the dairy and livestock sector.
